FUEL BRIQUETTES – 100% ECO FUEL
Fuel briquettes of sawdust are becoming more and more popular these days both in Russia and Europe. Fuel briquettes serve as an alternative for traditional types of fuel such as coal, logs and the gas. For briquettes production we use debarked spruce and pine sawdust which is a byproduct of sawn timber production. Fuel briquettes are—100% ecologically clean product made by pressing of dry sawdust without any chemicals. Briquettes are able to keep their form due to lignin (complex polymeric compound) which exudes during production. Softwood has 27-30% of lignin, which is twice as much as hardwood. This thing positively influences characteristics of our briquettes made of softwood. Calorific characteristics of sawdust briquettes are close to those of coal and much higher than of common logs. Briquettes burn 2-3 times longer than common logs such that there is a substantial saving of fuel. Moisture content of 8-10% allows to get more efficient heat output comparing with common logs which moisture content is 20-40% (a part of heat is wasted for evaporation of moisture from them). At the same time briquettes produce less smoke, which considerably reduces quantity of ash and keeps chimney clean. Briquettes leave almost no ash after burning. |

How to use fuel briquettes
Way of firing
Paper, wood chips, birch bark or tiny twigs are used for firing fuel briquettes.
- Put crumpled dry paper at the center of a fire place/stove.
- Lay chips or bark around so that oxygen could freely come in.
- Place several fuel briquettes so that the fire could ran through them at the most (stack them in layers, criss-crossed)
- After the first briquettes flare up, in 10-15 minutes, add briquettes as much as you need.
- Control the speed of burning and heat output by changing flow of coming oxygen and draft in the chimney.
Safety tips
- Never use gasoline to help start a fire.
- Never overload the stove (put only half of furnace volume at once).
- When putting out the fire it is necessary to pour lots of water onto briquettes and make sure the fire is completely out.
- Never allow children to fire fuel briquettes.
Storage
Store fuel briquettes indoors where moisture content is low. Do not allow briquettes to contact water or other liquids. Never unpack sealed briquettes wrapper if you do not plan to use briquettes.
